Kelowna Men's Soccer League wraps up with final three championships

The 2018 Kelowna Men’s Soccer League wrapped up its season during the past week with favoured teams living up to expectations and claiming playoff championships.

Coming off a 3-1 victory over the Rogue Knights in semifinal play a week earlier, Company FC received a two-goal effort from Ross Miller in the title match while Dan Hunt opened the scoring for the winners. Brad Vanhanegem was the lone goalscorer for Lifeworks (6-8-4), who had upset first-place Doja Internationale FC (15-1-2) in their semifinal.

<who>Photo Credit: Contributed </who>The Cattlemen's Club Restaurant Roasters added a KMSL playoff title to their regular-season championship by downing the Foster Financial Red Devils 3-0 in the Division 3B final. The Roasters’ goals came from three unlikely scorers — Logan Gayle (two goals in the regular season), Gabriel Pop (1) and Peterson Gustave (1).

Missing: Andrew Stein, David Broadhurst, Pedro Garro, Stefan Depner and Tyler Fulljames.Meanwhile, Kal Tire FC of Vernon claimed the over-35 championship by edging Penticton FC Masters 2-1 at Beasley Fields in Lake Country.

Kal, first-place finishers in the regular season with a 12-7-2 mark, got their goals from Anthony Vassallo and Jesse Knight while Lewis Morris scored for Penticton, who had ended the regular season in sixth place with a 7-11-3 record.
