The Royal Beach Victoria Open at Uplands Golf Club has been announced as the first event on the calendar for the 2023 PGA Tour Canada season.
The 40th edition of the Victoria Open will be the only event in BC on the 10 event Tour schedule this year, which will run from early June until September.
Birmingham, AL product Scott Stevens captured the Victoria Open title last year, defeating Costa Mesa, CA native Jake Knapp in a playoff to finish at 16-under par.
Besides a two-year hiatus due to the pandemic, the event has run continuously in Victoria since its inaugural year in 1981.
Uplands Golf Club is a par 70 course that should provide a strong challenge for this year’s field. While it’s not the longest track, measuring a little over 6,400 yards, several long par three’s will make it difficult to pick up easy strokes for players hoping to climb the leaderboard.
The event is set to run from June 12 to 18 at Uplands Golf Club in Victoria.
