The undefeated KSS Owls are hosting the 2022 AAA senior boys provincial volleyball championships this week, with a chance to repeat as provincial champions.
So far this season, the vaunted Owls have won every single game they have played in the regular season, along with claiming the championship trophy in all tournaments attended.
Last season, the Owls claimed the provincial title, which was their first in 68 years. They were supposed to host the event as well that year, but extraordinary weather led the tournament to be moved to the Lower Mainland.
KSS is led by setter Walker Sodaro, who recently signed a letter of intent to play for the TRU WolfPack next season, joining his elder brother, Mason. Nash Semeniuk has won numerous tournament All-Star awards for his season performances. He also plays for the Owls basketball team.
The team will begin their defence of the title on Wednesday, Nov. 29 with games scheduled at 10:30 am, 1:30 pm and 6 pm.
The Spike competition will take place on Friday, Dec 2 at 5:30 pm, as Restoration by Trades will be putting up over $500 in prize money.
The gold medal match is set for the following day, Saturday, Dec. 3 at 3:30 pm.
Come on out and cheer on your Owls! More information on the tournament can be found here. The tournament is sponsored by The Peyton and Dillon Budd Memorial Fund, which raises funds for mental health struggles.
