On Saturday night, the students and staff of Wentworth Music hosted yet another one of their highly acclaimed and raved about tribute concerts.
After hearing about all of the hype and excitement surrounding these shows KelownaNow decided to attend and learn a little bit more about Wentworth Music, the students and these truly legendary performances.
From Kiss to Prism and now the one hit wonders of the 70’s and 80’s these students are keeping the fiery passion for music burning and the staff are keeping Rock and Roll alive by passing it down to the next generation.
The Wentworth clan have been promoting all things music for many years now, from selling top of the line equipment, instructing students and hosting the immaculate showcases twice a year.
In doing all of that the Wentworth name has become household throughout the valley, and not just for their musical skills but their strong philanthropic bone.
Each show they host also moonlights as a fundraiser for the Kelowna General Hospital (KGH). Throughout the years and the many shows they have curated, Wentworth Music and it’s students have raised over $150,000 for the KGH.
The shows have grown so popular along with the level of instrumentation and musicianship of the students that members of the community who may not even know the people performing have made it habit to attend.
With energy levels bigger than the stage can handle, technicolour lighting, and true talent, the staff and students of Wentworth Music have created something magical with these performances.
The next Wentworth showcase will be in June and will have two dates for the very first time due to ticket demand.
