It’s a milestone season for the Amazing Race Canada, as the reality competition show celebrates its 10th year of sending duos around the country.
We’re through three episodes since the July 2 premiere and the field has been narrowed down from 11 teams to nine.
After starting in Niagara Falls, which is where the first season started a decade ago, teams have since made their way to the Sunshine Coast and Vancouver as part of the BC leg of the race.
But it’s the next episode of the show, which airs tonight, that will likely have Okanagan viewers doing their best impression of the Leonardo DiCaprio pointing meme.
Racers have flown from the Lower Mainland to Penticton and tonight’s episode will feature the beautiful South Okanagan.
A teaser at the end of last week’s episode showed that the South Okanagan portion of the race will begin at the SS Sicamous in Penticton.
It appears as though there will be challenges at The Book Shop in Penticton, Dirty Laundry Vineyard in Summerland and Area 27 Motorsports Park in Oliver.
Teasers for the episode also show the competitors trying their luck at archery and grape stomping, while a Facebook post from Nk'Mip Desert Cultural Centre indicates that racers will visit there as well.
Season 10 of the Amazing Race Canada was filmed between April 23 and May 15.
This year’s teams feature a few BC connections, including a pair of best friends and former professional baseball players from Vancouver in Michael Crouse and Tyson Gillies.
Abbotsford’s Gurleen Maan, who you may recognize from the shows Traitors and Farming For Love, is competing alongside boyfriend and Big Brother Canada season five winner Kevin Martin.
The final BC connection is one that all hockey fans should know, as former Vancouver Canucks tough guy Brad May is competing alongside his daughter Sam.
New episodes of the Amazing Race Canada air weekly on Tuesdays at 9 pm on CTV.
