The Canadian Home Builders Association of the Central Okanagan (CHBA-CO) announced the winners of the 2023 Okanagan Housing Awards of Excellence on Feb. 4, and AuthenTech Homes was titled the major winner with five awards for the Wilden Living Lab Next Generation Home.
Celebrating its 30th year, the awards recognize the outstanding achievements of builders, renovators and designers in creating innovative and sustainable housing solutions in the Okanagan region with 50 categories.
Scott Tyerman, the president of AuthenTech Homes, says the Okanagan is a breeding ground for housing excellence.
“Okanagan builders are leaps and bounds ahead of the rest,” he says. “It is great to have an awards program to showcase these innovations to the rest of Canada.”
The Wilden Living Lab is a research and learning initiative for better home building practices in collaboration with the Wilden Group, UBC Okanagan, Okanagan College, FortisBC and AuthenTech Homes.
The awards won by AuthenTech Homes include:
“I am grateful to the CHBA-CO for the opportunity to have received recognition through the years,” Tyerman says. “I think it is important for the many employees, trades, suppliers and consultants to be recognized for their excellence.”
“There is no better feeling for myself, or these hard-working people, than recognition from your peers.”
Other major award winners include Isabey Interiors with four awards, Timberhaven Homes with three awards, Okanagan Infill with three awards and Westwood Fine Cabinetry with three awards.
"The Okanagan Housing Awards of Excellence showcase the exceptional talent and dedication of our building, renovation and design community in creating innovative and sustainable housing solutions for our region,” explains Darren Witt, the CHBA-CO president.
“I am proud to recognize the outstanding achievements of our members and the positive impact they have on the Okanagan's economy, environment and quality of life."
