There’s been another death connected to Okanagan Lake.
Around 7:30 am on Sunday, a member of the public notified police about human remains floating off-shore in the north section of Okanagan Lake.
Officers quickly attended the scene and retrieved the body of a 21-year-old man from the lake.
“Personal items belonging to the individual were located on shore,” explained Cpl. Tania Finn. “There is no evidence of criminality being involved in his death.”
The RCMP continue to investigate the death, while the BC Coroners Service conducts an independent investigation to determine how, where, when and by what means the young man came to his unexpected death.
His family has been notified and there’s no more information to be released at this time.
The search for a 33-year-old Alberta man who did not surface from the lake while cliff jumping near Rattlesnake Island on Saturday continues.
