Plans have been unveiled for a first-of-its-kind wine village that will be a popular spot for wine, beer, cider and spirit lovers.
Construction of District Wine Village will begin along Hwy 97 in Oliver in the spring of 2020.
By 2021, the highly-anticipated spot “will bring small-batch wine, beer, cider and spirit producers together alongside unique events and creative culinary offerings.”

The one-stop spot for tastings and much more will feature 16 artisan producers, a culinary experience centre, a multi-purpose amphitheatre, an on-site vineyard and a chef’s garden.
“District Wine Village is poised to be a pillar of the Okanagan Wine Region and a gateway to the South Okanagan – where wine country comes to life,” says the District Wine Village website.
“The majority of all vineyards and investment in the wine industry is located in this area which is quickly becoming recognized as a world class region.”
District Wine Village will allow these small-batch producers to have their own tasting room and production facility without having to invest in a full winery operation.
With plenty of parking on the outside of the property, the 16 producers will be set up in a circle, offering a true village and community feel as you walk around the village.
Each spot will have a patio facing the middle of the village centre.
It will surely become a popular spot for both tourists and Okanagan residents to enjoy in the South Okanagan.
It’s being called “the first true wine village in Canada.”
