The countdown is on for a highly anticipated exhibition in the Okanagan.
A highly anticipated Bob Ross exhibition is set to open at the Penticton Art Gallery tomorrow.
The Happy Little Accidents exhibition will feature 32 original paintings by the late artist, best known for his upbeat and inspirational quotes and quick painting style.
The exhibit, which is the largest exhibition and the first solo exhibition of Ross’ work in Canada, was set to debut on March 21, but will now take place starting this Saturday. It will be on display until September 13, 2020.
The opening day will be celebrated with a variety of entertainment from 2 pm to 10 pm.
You can expect live music from artists such as Aidan Mayes, Maiya Robbie and Safe Bet, a DJ, a Certified Ross Instructor live painting, a huge Bob Ross Paint-By-Numbers, hourly bubble shows from Bubble
Wonders, and the incredible circus stylings of Dusty Flower Pot Cabaret.
Ross was the host of the popular show The Joy of Painting, and recorded more than 400 episodes between 1982 and 1994.
With COVID-19 restrictions still in place, the gallery has implemented all the necessary protocols for the show, meaning it will be a “socially distanced” event.
There is a suggested $5 donation at the event. For more information, click here.
