Mounties in Oliver are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a man involved in an alleged road rage incident that took place over the weekend.
According to reports the suspect, who drove a dark-colored pickup truck, had been tailgating another driver’s vehicle as they were travelling south toward Oliver near the Vaseux Lake rest area.
Once they made it to Tucelnuit Drive from Highway 97, the driver being tailgated pulled over to the side of the road to allow the truck to pass. The suspect, however, also pulled over.
The suspect was said to have got out of his vehicle, approached the other driver and began to yell before kicking the victim’s vehicle and getting back into the truck to continue his travels south on Tucelnuit Drive.
Officers are now looking for anyone who may have information on the incident or know someone who fits the description of the suspect.
He is described to be white and in his mid-40s with dark hair and facial hair. The suspect is short with a stocky build and a “smoker’s” voice.
Those with information can contact the Oliver RCMP at 250-498-3422, or Crime Stoppers 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
