Residents can expect to see increased RCMP presence along Naramata Creek Forest Service Road this week.
On Tuesday, police confirmed that two dead bodies were discovered by hikers in the area.
One victim has since been identified, however, police are now looking for tips from the public for the second body.
According to an RCMP media release, autopsies are scheduled for Friday, May 14.
“While officers wait for the results of the forensic autopsy we are asking that anyone who may have seen something unusual or odd to contact us. Our investigators will be able to determine if it is important to the file,” RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Jesse O’Donaghey said in the release.
That includes information about the two individuals that were seen in the area shortly before the bodies were discovered.
"At this point there is no evidence that links the two people observed in the area to the deceased people," O’Donaghey said.
"Officers would still like to identify who they were to eliminate them from the ongoing investigation.”
RCMP are also hoping to identify a vehicle possibly linked to the bodies that were found in the area.
Anyone who might have seen something unusual in the area to call the BC RCMP Major Crime information line at 1-877-987-8477
