(UPDATE: 1:40 p.m.) - There's now three gas stations with prices under $1 per litre in Penticton and it looks like the Okanagan could have a gas war on its hands.
Joining the Petro-Canada on Westminster Avenue at 99.9 cents per litre is the Canco station on Government Street, while the Super Save on Green Mountain Road is down to 98.9 cents per litre.
In Kelowna, most stations are still hovering around 119.9 cents per litre, while the Husky station on Ross Road in West Kelowna is down to 118.9 cents per litre.
With a difference of 20 cents per litre, a nice road trip down Hwy 97 to Penticton could be in the cards for many Central Okanagan residents.
(Original story: 8:45 a.m.) - If you’re anywhere near Penticton today, you may want to consider filling up your gas tank.
According to GasBuddy, the Petro-Canada station on Westminster Avenue in Penticton currently has the lowest gas price in all of British Columbia.
It’s the only station in B.C. under $1 per litre, currently sitting at 99.9 cents per litre for regular gas.
The Super Save station on Green Mountain Road in Penticton isn’t much higher, at 103.9 cents per litre, while a number of other stations in the area are sitting at 104.9 cents per litre.
In Kelowna, prices are a little higher but still relatively low compared to what they’ve been over the past 12 months.
A number of stations are slightly under $1.20 per litre, including Chevrons on Harvey Avenue and Gordon Drive.
Barring a couple exceptions, all Penticton gas stations are under $1.05 per litre, while all Kelowna gas stations are under $1.22 per litre.
