Tessa Virtue and Scott Moir have a pair of gold medals, and now they’re going to get to hang out with their favourite band in the Olympic village.
The Arkells are a Canadian rock band out of Hamilton, Ont., and they’re also great friends of the Canadian flag bearers.

Last week, they retweeted a video posted by Yahoo Canada Sports that featured their song ‘Knocking At The Door,’ while Michael Kingsbury and one of the Dufour-Lapointe sisters shared a hug.
The Arkells added the comment “we need to go to Korea stat and play this for our (Canadian) Olympians.”

The tweet sat silently for nearly two days, but then Air Canada jumped into action with the ultimate Canadian move.
“I think we can make that happen,” the airline tweeted. “What do you think? Bonne idée??”

Air Canada and the Arkells, whose Twitter account is run by leadman Max Kerman, exchanged a few more tweets and looped Team Canada in on the plans.
“Guess Team Canada will see you guys soon,” Team Canada tweeted, making things absolutely official.

Tessa Virtue could barely contain her excitement.
“YESSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is beyond exciting. Arkells have been the soundtrack to my Olympic experience thus far… it will be such a thrill to see them live. Thank you, Air Canada!”

The tickets are booked and the Arkells will be heading to PyeongChang on Wednesday, just in time for the final few days of the Olympics.
Hopefully some live pump up music can push our Canadian athletes to an extra couple of medals before all is said and done in South Korea.
