A Penticton man’s plea for help has gone viral but he has yet to be reconnected with a special piece of jewellery that made its way to a pawn shop.
Sandy Stock is looking for a necklace that he purchased for his son from a jewellery store in Trail, B.C. Stock added an engraved pendent to the necklace which reads “My #1 Son Love Dad”, making it unique to find. Unfortunately his son ran into some financial troubles and pawned the necklace in Penticton to obtain some fast cash.
Unable to get back to the shop to retrieve his special necklace when things were looking up, the necklace has now changed hands and ended up elsewhere.
Stock’s son passed away a couple of weeks ago and he is desperate to find the necklace and last remaining piece of his son. He says the piece of jewellery will help him through the grieving process and thinks it may have been five years since it was pawned in Penticton.
Stock and his brother have searched local pawn shops to no avail and spoken with shop owners. Without success, he has turned to Facebook for help. Posting the story on the “If you grew up in Penticton BC you remember…” Facebook page, the story has been shared more than a thousand times as people look to return the necklace to Stock.
If you have seen the necklace and pendant or have information about it, please contact Stock via Facebook here.
