You say you like your motorcycles hurtling through the sky like low-flying airplanes? Then you’ll love the latest announcement from the 2023 Penticton Peach Festival.
The Canadian Tire Mega Motocross is back. Twice daily from Aug. 9 through 11, three of Canada's top motocross riders will perform their wild and crazy airborne hijinks just a couple hundred meters from the Festival's main stage on Lakeshore Drive.
And if you've ever been lucky enough to see it in the past, you'll know the Mega Motocross delivers more thrills and chills -- and more great photo ops -- than virtually anything else at the five-day event.
Motocross spokesman Kris Garwasiuk said the riders love coming to Penticton for the Peach Festival.
“We look forward to Penticton every year,” he said. “It's one of the biggest festivals in BC and we draw huge crowds for the show.”
Riders in 2023 will include Jeff Fehr of Vanderhoof, Jordan Gledhill of Winnipeg and Kelowna’s Chris Nolan. Fehr is recognized as the first Canadian to land a backflip in competition and holds the world backflip record with a jump of 108 feet.
Also on the menu is Garwasiuk’s nine-year-old son, Kruz, with an all-new routine, and the Havoc Pro Scooter Team.
The 2023 Penticton Peach Festival, Canada's largest free festival, will run from Aug. 9-13. For more info, visit peachfest.com.
