‘Appears to be a targeted incident’: Police investigating early-morning Penticton shooting

Investigators are probing an early-morning shooting in Penticton.

While the investigation is in its early stages, the RCMP says it “appears to be a targeted incident.”

A release from Cst. Patti Evans said there is no identified risk to the public.

Officers responded to a 911 call about the shooting at 7 am on Wednesday.

A man had reportedly been shot in the leg in the 100 block of Westhills Drive.

The victim was taken to hospital where he’s considered in stable condition as he receives ongoing treatment for a “serious injury,” police said.

No arrest has been made and the RCMP is urging anyone with information regarding the incident to contact the Penticton detachment at 250-492-4300.
