(Update: Nov. 9, 2024 @ 1:15 pm): A dog that went missing following a rollover collision on Green Mountain Road near Penticton is now safe at home.
Bree was in a vehicle being driven by the employee of a local dog walking business, Muddy Paws Dog Walking, when the driver has a medical emergency. The car rolled multiple times, and Bree was on the lose for over a week afterwards.
Muddy Paws owner, Sunshine, said that they would not give up until the dog was found. Bree's owners, as well as volunteers, helped finally capture the dog today.
After a total of nine days of roaming the area in the cold, and being sighted multiple times on security cameras, Bree is now at home with her family.

A dog missing near Penticton has evaded capture for a full week now.
Bree, a Pyranese mix, has been missing since Oct. 31, 2024, when a dog walker’s vehicle rolled three times due to an unexpected medical emergency on Green Mountain Road.
Two dogs that were in the vehicle at the time went missing, but one was found shortly after the crash. Bree, however, remains at large.
Although Bree has been on the loose for a week, she has been spotted several times, including on security cameras in the area.
“It's been a tiring 7 days, but the owners and I are feeling more hopeful than we have all weekend,” said Muddy Paws owner, Sunshine.
“We had multiple sightings last night, and have a trap in place in the area she frequents.”
Sunshine adds that it seems as though Bree has been able to take care of herself, and has even made some doggy friends along the way.
The area they are searching in is on PIB land, Sunshine adds, and the community has graciously allowed them to continue their efforts to capture Bree.
Muddy Paws has received lots of offers for help and boots on the ground, however they are trying to limit the number of people on site so as to not scare Bree away.
As for their injured co-worker, she is still in the hospital, but is “feeling better every day.” For her, it’ll be a long road to recovery.
