More than 40 local and regional businesses under one roof, exhibiting their products and services, many handing out samples and discounts, some running contests, and all ready to chat.
And no admission charge.
That's the scene this Saturday at the sixth annual TRUE Penticton Tourism Expo.
"TRUE" stands for "Think Remarkable Unique Experiences," says event organizer Visit Penticton, which aims to showcase the wealth of amazing attractions and activities offered in and around Penticton.
And the list of participating businesses is no joke. There'll be adventure operators, rentals and tour companies, festival and event organizers, wine and craft beer creators (with tastings!), artisan food creators (with samples!) and more.
But that's not all. Kids get a scavenger hunt and grown-ups get chances to win what Visit Penticton calls "fantastic" prizes.
According to Visit Penticton marketing and member services manager Paige Schulz, "There's no better way to learn about our community and all the things to see, do and explore in Penticton.
"And if you’re a tourism business owner, it's a great opportunity for you to share information with clients, guests and visitors about the upcoming season, and boost your bookings with locals and their friends and family that are planning trips."
The TRUE Penticton Tourism Expo kicks off at 11 am Sunday, April 2 at the Penticton Trade and Convention Centre and runs through to 4 pm. In lieu of admission, Visit Penticton asks attendees to bring along non-perishable food donations for the Penticton Community Fridge.
