Glorious dinner-hour rainbow caps off day of erratic weather

There are rainbows and then there are RAINBOWS. At the dinner hour tonight in Penticton, we had the latter.

Especially from the right vantage point, and with the sun low in the sky, it was a knockout. The secondary rainbow above it wasn't too shabby either.

From this perspective on the West Bench, it seemed the north end landed in Okanagan Lake and the south end in Skaha.

Also unusual was its duration. It remained visible a good 20 minutes after these photos were taken.

The mega-rainbow capped off a day of erratic weather where we were randomly hit with sun, clouds, furious storm clouds, downpours and thunder.

The situation should smooth itself out by the weekend when the sun will prevail and temperatures will begin to climb in earnest. By this time next week, we'll see highs in the 30s.
