Penticton by-election general voting opens June 19

The Penticton by-election general voting is happening this weekend, on June 19th. Advanced voting has been open for the past few weeks, but this is your final day to cast your vote.

This by-election is filling one vacancy on the council, people in the running were asked to answer the following community opinion question: Do you support the City selecting a private operator and entering into a long-term agreement of up to 25 years in order to fund the marina improvements and provide marina services at Skaha Lake Park?

Due to COVID-19 candidates and their representatives are asked to stay home and watch the live Zoom feed of the counting process for the vote.

</who>Photo credit: City of PentictonThe live feed is expected to begin shortly after 8pm, as soon as the last voter has left the PTCC Polling Station.

The preliminary election results will be announced at the end of the night, and the total number of votes for each candidate will be displayed, along with the results from the community opinion question.
