UPDATE: Missing dog near Penticton confirmed alive after being spotted on camera

(UPDATE: Nov. 4 @ 10:50 am) - The search for a missing dog in the Penticton area continues on Monday morning.

Muddy Paws Dog Walking says they won’t give up until Bree is found.

The Pyranese mix has been missing since Oct. 31, 2024, when a dog walker’s vehicle rolled three times due to an unexpected medical emergency on Green Mountain Road.

Two dogs that were in the vehicle at the time went missing, but one was found shortly after the crash. Bree, the second dog, remains on the loose.

Muddy Paws shared this morning that Bree has been confirmed to be alive, as she has been spotted on cameras several times.

The business added that they have a plan in place to catch her. At this time, they don’t need any additional volunteers, and are asking people to keep their distance.

“Thank you all for caring so much for Bree, we will be doing everything in our power to get her home,” Muddy Paws added.

(Original Story: Nov. 1 @ 1pm) - Muddy Paws Dog Walking in Penticton is searching for a missing dog following an accident that seriously injured one of their team members.

The accident happened on Green Mountain Road near the Green Mountain Dispensary on Oct. 31, 2024 at 12 pm. Muddy Paws told KelownaNow that the employee had an unexpected medical event that cause her vehicle to roll three times.

The team member has been hospitalized, and will have a long road to recovery.

Two dogs that were with the team member at the time went missing. One has since been found, but the second dog has not turned up yet.

Bree is a Pyranese mix and was last seen on Green Mountain headed towards town yesterday afternoon.

Muddy Paws says that she’s now been missing for 24 hours, and may be close to the accident site still and is just too scared to come out.

Bree does not have a collar or tags on.

People have been out looking for the lost pup, but Bree has not been spotted since yesterday.

“This was the worst case of all worst case scenarios, that we could not have planned for, even if we tried. And the community has been extremely supportive,” Muddy Paws said.

If you spot Bree, please call call 250-274-4013.
