Things to do in Penticton: August 2 to 4, 2019

Each weekend we'll compile a list of activities you need to know about. Whether it's community events, treats you have to try, killer sales or where to find some dance-worthy live music, we've got you covered on activities you need to know to make the most of your weekend.

Disco En Blanc with DJ Shakes

You can’t wear white after Labour Day so the BC Day long weekend is the perfect time to rep the white! Also, who doesn’t like a good old fashioned white party? It’s super classy and it’s a chance to feel very posh in the Okanagan Valley. This Disco En Blanc is held at our very own Bench 1775 Winery on Friday from 7 pm until 10 pm. What a wonderful way to end the work week and kick off the long weekend – white equals clean slate.

Tickets are $25 including a complimentary shuttle and a tasting. The shuttle leaves The Penticton Lakeside at 6:30 pm and 6:45 pm. It will bring you back at 10:15 pm and 10:30 pm.

Gordie Mannes Memorial Invitational

Name a better way to race into the long weekend than watching races. We’ll wait. Starting Friday at 7 pm, there will be races all weekend long in the evenings at the Penticton Speedway. After a long adventurous day out in the Okanagan heat, don’t stop the adventure once dinner time hits. This is a family friendly event that will give your kids an evening thrill.

Tickets to this event are $20 for adults, $15 for seniors/youth, and free for kids ages 10 and under (yay)! They can be purchased at the gate.

Penticton Farmers Market

Every Saturday there’s the Farmers Market on 100 Block Main Street from 8:30 am to 1 pm. The community market operates in the 200 and 300 blocks on Main Street. This is the farmers market of your dreams! If you’re a local and have time to check it out or a tourist reading this you better see it on Saturday. You will not believe your eyes. This is ‘support local’ to the max.

Hint: If you’re partaking in the Okanagan Lifestyle’s OKGN Adventure List this summer, you can easily check off #3 on the list at this market. Then adventure around Penticton to check off the rest of the scavenger hunt list.

See you there!

Okanagan Dream Rally

The Okanagan Dream Rally is kicking off this Sunday! The rally of beautiful, vintage and unique cars starts in Kelowna and makes it way over to Penticton with their co-pilots.

The Dream Rally will arrive in Penticton around 11:20 am where they'll do a parade lap down Riverside Ave and Lakeshore Dr. They will be parking at Barefoot Beach Resort for the public car show from approximately 11:30 am until 1:30 pm!

Then the drivers and co-pilots make their journey back to Kelowna!

Jeff Piattelli at Cannery Brewing

On Sunday at Cannery Brewing from 6 pm to 8 pm let Jeff Piattelli serenade you and your pals under the warm Okanagan sunset heat. Grab some brews and bites and more brews since Monday is a stat holiday and hopefully you don’t have work! Yay! Also, there will not be a cover charge – double yay!

If these events don't fancy you, this weekend is perfect for jumping in the lake, hiking, biking and wine tasting!

Stay cool though – it's going to be a typical Okanagan scorcher this weekend!
