Woman, 28, arrested after allegedly ramming car of citizen calling 911 about her erratic driving

A woman has been arrested after allegedly reversing a vehicle into the car of a concerned citizen who was on the line to police to report her erratic driving.

The 28-year-old was taken into custody in Penticton on suspicion of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and impaired operation of a motor vehicle.

It happened on Jan. 14, shortly after 2:30 pm.

The concerned citizen called 911 to report a vehicle alternately moving slowly and quickly accelerating along Fairview Avenue.

It almost hit oncoming vehicles, the witness told police.

When the car was in front of Penticton Secondary School, the witness explained the driver reversed directly into their car.

Both occupants of the car managed to get out, suffering only minor injuries.

Shortly afterwards, officers arrived and arrested the woman.
