Cyclist pulls out gun and fires at group of people walking in PG at 2 am

One man is in hospital and the search is on for suspects after a shooting in the early hours of this morning.

According to the Prince George RCMP, it happened around 2:15 am today as a group of three people were walking together on Upland Street near 20th Avenue.

The investigation has led police to believe that the group had a verbal interaction with two men on bikes.

At least one of the two cyclists pulled out a handgun and fired towards the others, striking one of them,” explained Cpl. Craig Douglass.

“The cyclists fled before police were called. At this time, it is not believed that the victims knew the suspects.”

The police dog service unit was called in to assist in the search for the suspects, but none were located.

An investigation into the shooting is ongoing, but there’s no evidence that it’s related to any other recent incident.

Anyone with information about this crime is asked to contact the Prince George RCMP at 250-561-3300.
