Prince George Fire Rescue quickly douses early morning blaze on Ogilvie Street

Prince George Fire Rescue was in action this morning, responding to a fire in the city.

According to PGFR Assistant Chief Kevin Scobie, at 2:20 am, a total of 19 firefighters responded to commercial alarms in the 1700 block of Ogilvie Street. Upon arrival, fire crews found a commercial building with smoke and flames showing.

After making a quick attack, crews were able to knock down the fire. It took crews approximately four hours to complete salvage and overhaul when the incident was all said and done.

Thankfully, there were no occupants in the structure when it went up in flames. No firefighters were injured during the action.

At this point, the cause of the fire is still unknown. The investigation is ongoing.
