Interior highways have seen another tour bus incident, the third in a year.
The serious crash occurred soon after 4 p.m. on Friday, July 31st on the Hoffmans Bluff section of the Trans-Canada Highway. RCMP say that a Chevrolet Cavalier with one male occupant crossed over the centre line for unknown reasons. The driver then hit a charter bus head on with 57 people aboard, including the bus driver.

RCMP are calling the crash fatal and BC Coroners Service is investigating. On the bus, however, the most serious injury was to the driver, who was taken to Royal Inland Hospital (RIH) in Kamloops with non-life-threatening injuries. The 56 passengers on the bus were tourists from Korea, and BC Ambulance Service said Friday night that 20 people had been taken to RIH in non-life-threatening condition and three patients transported in serious condition.
RCMP and the BC Coroners Service are investigating to determine what caused the Cavalier to go into the oncoming lane and hit the bus. Police say that alcohol is not considered a factor.

This tour bus crash follows one on the Coquihalla in late June where a tour bus hit a stationary tow truck. At the end of August 2014, a tour bus hit a median and rolled into a ditch, sending over 50 people to hospital.
