Abbotsford Police Make Arrests Connected to 38 Break and Enters

Abbotsford Police have made arrests in a significant number of break and enters plaguing the city.

A series of 38 break ins have been reported to the police in the Townline Hill area since November 2014. Officers believe that the majority of homes were targeted for cash and jewelry worth approximately $750,000.

The Crime Reduction Unit began investigating the crimes in the spring of 2015 and on September 29th, 2015 two men were arrested. Surrey resident, 45-year-old Shane Conrad Takakenew and 30-year-old Dustin Littlewolfe of Vancouver have been charged with four counts of break and enter and one count of break and enter respectively. Police believe the pair may also be responsible for other incidents in Abbotsford or the Lower Mainland.

The arrests were made possible thanks to video footage obtained from cameras in the area. The police department has recovered some of the property believed to be associated with the break ins and will make direct contact with the victims to return the items.
