Those who love to get an extreme thrill will be excited to hear that The Pipe Mountain Coaster will be opening at Revelstoke Mountain Resort this spring.
The track has been laid and the opening date is a month and a half away, but the excitement is already growing for this summer’s newest summer attraction. The Pipe Mountain Coaster will open on May 21, 2016 at the resort and will be the first of its kind in North America.
The Brandauer Mountain Coaster will give thrill seekers a treat as they speed down the single-track coaster at speeds of up to 42 km/hr. The 1.4 km track will thrill guests from the Revelation Lodge down to the Village Plaza. The fun begins with a seneic treetop ride on the gondola as riders make their way to the starting line.
One seated, the ride will head into a steep drop that dives into a tunnel and a descend of 279 vertical metres. Making your way through the forest, riders have complete control of the speed, making the experience available to the entire family, young and old.
To ride alone, guests must be eight years of age or older and a minimum height of 4'6". Maximum weight must not exceed 260 lbs and locals recieve a discount with proof of address.
“For those looking to soak up more of the spectacular summer scenery, the ability to control their own speed adds to the excitement as they travel through ski runs, forest, and a tunnel at their own pace,” explained communications spokeperson Liz Craig.
The new addition to Revelstoke Mountain Resort is just one of the exciting activities available to guests this summer. Sightseeing and breakfast tours via the Revelation Gondola as well as Heli Adventures with Selkirk Tangiers Heli Skiing will offer thrilling activities such as hiking, alpine picnics, and biking.
