Since then, investigators have determined the origin and cause of the fire to be lightning.

Now, 182 hectares, the fire is still active, although 30 per cent contained.

On Wednesday, 47 firefighters were still actively working on the fire with support from two helicopters and three pieces of heavy equipment.

There has been no significant growth on the fire since May 16, except for successful planned ignitions to burn off fuel in the fire's path.

The fire may be a concern to residents because of its visibility from nearby communities.

The BC Wildfire Service strongly urges members of the public to stay well away from the wildfire area.
