B.C.'s own Marianas Trench gives back through latest video

Looking for something to brighten your day? Vancouver-based band Marianas Trench has a released a new video with a theme unlike any they’ve done before.

In the past, they’ve usually gone a more theatrical route, but this time around, they decided to film a lower budget video and donate the excess funds to various charities in British Columbia.

“Music videos are expensive. Rather than spending our budget on a big, fancy video, we spent it on who we love,” the intro reads.

Starting with furry friends, they bought various goodies for pets and gift cards to a dog spa in Vancouver, and gave them out to pet owners along the beach.

Next, they visited the BCSPCA, where they sponsored one kennel for a year.

They gave out gift bags in the city, with products from local companies that support women in need, and instructions to pay it forward.

They took a Rain or Shine Ice Cream stand to the park and handed out free cones to passer bys, went to a local coffee shop and handed out drinks to the homeless and took a load of toys to Ronald McDonald House for the kids staying there.

In probably the most touching part of the video, lead singer Josh Ramsay dances with his mother, who is suffering from Lewy Body Dementia. According to the video, Ramsay personally donated $25,000 to the Lewy Body Dementia Association.

Various schools in the area were given grants for fine arts and music from the band from the band, which also donated to a local care home as well as to the food bank.

Let us know what you thought of the video down in the comments.
