You may be offered booze in some unexpected places in no time as the B.C. government loosens liquor laws.
As of Monday, new liquor laws are in effect.
Included in the changes, all types of businesses, like art galleries and barber shops, can now apply for liquor licences.
The new and updated laws are a result of the Liquor Policy Review conducted by the province. The review suggested 73 recommendations that are intended to update what the province calls antiquated liquor laws.
Hotels and resorts that own a bar on the premises can now offer guests a complimentary alcoholic beverage upon check-in and guests can carry their drinks to their rooms.
Golfers can take their drinks from one area to another on the golf course.
When it comes to getting new licences, the government says applicants can expect more timely decisions on their applications
