A pair of B.C. sports teams are without radio play-by-play broadcasters after Bell Media made more cuts on Monday.
The voice of the B.C. Lions, Scott Rintoul, and the Vancouver Whitecaps, Peter Schaad, were both relieved of their duties.
Rintoul has worked for TSN 1040 for over a decade, doing almost everything you could imagine in his 11 and a half years with the station.
He confirmed the news on Twitter.
Haven't had time to change my twitter bio yet, but here's the update for those who may be wondering pic.twitter.com/NxWpjeG53w

Meanwhile, Schaad joined TSN 1040 as the Whitecaps play-by-play man when the team joined the MLS in 2011.
He also confirmed the news on Twitter, while also mentioning that there was more to the story.
OMG!! I can't believe my TL! Thank you for all the well wishes. There's more to the story. I will keep you updated! ❤️❤️

What Schaad could be referring to is the fact that the Whitecaps and TSN 1040 don’t currently have a broadcasting agreement in place, so changes could be ahead in that sense.
