Metallica has announced a 2017 world tour and it’ll be making its way into British Columbia.
The WorldWired Tour 2017 kicks off on May 10th in Baltimore and runs through the summer, with the final date at Edmonton’s Commonwealth Stadium on August 16th.
They’ll be playing BC Place in Vancouver on Monday, August 14th with a stop at CenturyLink Field in Seattle just a few days prior, on Wednesday, August 9th.
The tour will feature three different openers in Avenged Sevenfold, Volbeat and Gojira, with two of the three bands at most shows.
For the Seattle, Vancouver and Edmonton dates it will be Avenged Sevenfold and Gojira as the opening acts.
The extended trip around North America will be the first for the band since they toured extensively in 2009, leaving a lot of fans desperate to grab tickets one of the 25 shows this summer.
The WorldWired Tour 2017 is in support of the band’s new album, Hardwired...To Self-Destruct, which hit shelves back in November.
The record, which is the band’s 10th studio album, sold over 800,000 copies worldwide in its first week.
As a small bonus, if you purchase a ticket to any show on the tour you’ll receive a digital download or physical copy of the new album.
Tickets for the tour go on sale on Friday, February 17th at 10 a.m.
