It was a dream weekend for Abbotsford’s Adam Hadwin.

Hadwin had been having a dream season so far, but it all came together at the Copperhead Course in Florida.
He was six shots back through one round after opening with a 68 on Thursday, before an impressive 64 on Friday gave him the lead heading into the weekend.
A solid round of 67 on Saturday gave Hadwin a comfortable four shot lead entering Sunday’s final round, where he was able to shoot 71 to get it done by one.

The victory makes Hadwin the second Canadian to win on the tour this season, although Ontario’s Mackenzie Hughes won in the fall, when many of the top pros aren’t playing.
With the win, Hadwin now has PGA Tour exemption through the 2018-2019 season, as well as a spot in a number of big tournaments including the 2017 Masters.
The only issue there is that Hadwin is getting married in a couple of weeks and the honeymoon was set for the same April weekend as the illustrious tournament.
Adam Hadwin planned on having his honeymoon in a few weeks.

“I’m just hoping I get my deposit back,” said Hadwin, to a laughing media room after the win. “You laugh like I’m joking, I’m serious here! I understand I won a big cheque this week, but I don’t like to throw money away.”
Seeing Jessica’s reaction to Hadwin’s win on Sunday, it seems like she’ll understand pushing the honeymoon back a few days.
