Residents in and around Vancouver Island experienced an earthquake on Saturday, though they might not have noticed it.
According to Earthquakes Canada, a 4.5-magnitude quake hit 112 km south-southwest of Port Alice. The latitude of the quake was 49.4 north while the longitude was 127.8 west.

At this point, there are no reports of damage, and none is to be expected. No tsunami warnings were put in place following the event.
In addition to this quake, a 4.0-magnitude seismic event struck near Gold River.
