BC motorcyclist killed by rear wheels of semi truck after crashing on highway

The BC Highway Patrol (BCHP) is investigating a fatal motorcycle crash in the Lower Mainland.

Emergency crews were called to the scene on Hwy 99, near the George Massey Tunnel in Delta, around 6:15 am Wednesday.

According to police, the motorcyclist ran into a car and fell onto the roadway.

They were then fatally injured by the rear wheels of a semi truck.

“(The) BCHP is looking to speak with the driver of the semi truck who did not remain on scene,” urged a BCHP release.

“(They) may not know what happened.”

Police are urging any witnesses, including the driver or company related to the semi, to come forward.

Investigators are hoping to learn more about the semi’s vehicle description or licence plate, as well as acquire any relevant dash cam footage, even from before or after the fatal collision.
