Driving over a fire hose is both illegal and extremely dangerous, and yet a B.C. fire department has had this issue not once, but three times this year.
The Vancouver Fire Rescue showed a picture of yet another supply hose that was destroyed by a driver while they were fighting a blaze.

“We didn’t think this would be an issue three times in a year, but please do not drive over fire hoses,” the department said. “It is both illegal and exceedingly dangerous to the women & men on the other end of those hoses who may be protecting their lives or the lives of others with that water supply.”
Back in April the department put out a similar request to the public after a motorist drove through fire line tape and over a 5” supply hose. It immediately burst and interrupted the water supply to the crew at the structure fire.
One length of supply hose has about 370 kg of water in it at 8.3 bar flowing at 3,780+ litres per minute, said the department, so you can imagine what happens when the container breaches.
