The family and friends of Alison Raspa finally have some closure.
Whistler RCMP has confirmed that the human remains pulled from Alpha Lake on Friday, March 16 belong to Raspa.
The Australian national was reported missing in the area on Nov. 23, 2017 and an extensive search for the woman ensued.
The search was eventually called off, but on Friday her body was noticed in the north end of the lake by bystanders in the area, who reported it to police.
Raspa’s cause of death has not been confirmed, but the RCMP say it doesn’t appear suspicious at this time.
Her family in Australia has been notified and the BC Coroners Service will be engaged with the family moving forward.
