The investigation began in March 2019 when the authorities received a notification from an electronic service provider, alleging that an account user had child pornography in their possession.
An investigation was immediately launched by the Surrey RCMP ICE unit.
Following an extensive review process and forensic analysis of the evidence, charges were approved by the BC Prosecution Service and handed down on July 2.
Due to the nature of Reshef’s job and his exposure to children, the RCMP is releasing this information in the interest of public safety and to further the police investigation.
However, investigators maintain that no Lower Mainland children have been identified as potential victims at this point.
Anyone with information that pertains to this investigation is asked to contact the Surrey RCMP ICE unit at 604-599-0502.
