A Vancouver cyclist is angry following an easily avoidable incident that could have ended in tragedy over the weekend.
According to Squamish RCMP, a collision took place between the cyclist and a Ford truck on the Sea to Sky Hwy on Monday. The incident occurred south of Furry Creek around noon and closed the road in both directions.

Police mentioned that the cyclist was hit by the vehicle while it travelled in the southbound lane. Fellow travellers quickly pointed out that the victim was actually hit by lumber that was sticking multiple feet outside of the back of the Ford.
Todd Nickel took to Twitter to confirm he was the one injured from the incident. He noted that he was "f***ing mad," but also "happy to be alive."

Nickel is now recovering at Lions Gate Hospital. He suffered a broken clavicle, scapula, eight ribs, and a punctured lung.
The lumber allegedly struck nickel at a speed of 80 km/h. NowMedia is looking to gather more information.
