Police in southern BC had to deal with another excessive speeder last week.

According to Trail RCMP, on May 6 at 12:22 pm, an officer was conducting routine traffic patrol when they noticed a vehicle travelling at 122 km/h in a 60 km/h zone.

The cop pulled over the 2008 yellow Lotus sports car in the 3000 block of Highway 3B in Trail.

A 54-year-old Montrose man was detained during the incident.

The man was issued a $483 fine for excessive speed. His Lotus was also impounded for seven days.

RCMP warned other drivers saying they would be conducting provincial-wide speed enforcement.
