A Southern BC family was given a stern warning after breaking Public Health Order rules recently.
According to Columbia Valley RCMP, on Feb. 27, officers attended to a home in Panorama after hearing reports that a large group of people had gathered in the area.
Upon arrival, officers learned that 15 different people were renting the home.
Police explained to the chief renter that, because the occupants were from different households, they were violating rules put in place by the provincial government.
The renter received a $230 ticket for attending a "non-compliant event" under the Emergency Program Act.
RCMP did not mention whether or not the renters had to make other arrangements.
