(UPDATE: July 31st @ 12:47 p.m.) - The Little Fort Complex Wildfire is still active and is at 3,607 hectares in size, which includes the fire burning at Dunn Lake, Thuya Lake, and Lemieux Creek.
There are currently 20 firefighters, one helicopter, a water tender, and a five member Incident Management Team assigned to the fire complex.
(UPDATE: July 22nd @ 12:10 p.m.) - The Little Fort Complex near Little Fort and Clearwater is made up of two fires.
The Dunn Lake fire is currently estimated at 3,035 hectares in size.
It was previously two fires and it has combined into one.
That fire is 50% contained at this time.
There are 122 personnel, 13 pieces of heavy equipment and four water tenders on site.
There are 34 specialized resources working on the fire, including seven helicopters and an incident management team.
Those resources are being shared with the second fire in the complex.
The Thuya Lake Road fire has reached 90% containment.
It is currently listed at 556 hectares in size.
There are 83 resources dedicated to that fire at this time.
Crews are battling a cluster of fires near Little Fort, calling it the Little Fort Complex.
On Saturday, 227 personnel were supporting efforts to fight the fires, including 199 firefighting personnel, 10 helicopters, 13 pieces of heavy equipment, five water tenders and an incident management team located in Clearwater.
Dunn Lake Fire
The Dunn Lake Fire is part of the Little Fort cluster of fires.
The Dunn Lake Fire is three kilometres northeast of Little Fire.
Dunn Lake originally started off as two fires and now is considered one fire, known as the Dunn Lake fire.
That fire moved 1.5 kilomteres north over Friday night.
On Saturday, it grew steadily, resulting in additional evacuation alerts and orders.
Between Friday and Saturday, the fire grew from 1900 hectares to 2300 hectares.
It's currently being pushed by winds.
The cold front that we're seeing move through the Kamloops Fire Centre is what's contributing to the increase in wind activity, which is pushing the fires around.
The Kamloops Fire Centre expects the growth pattern of the fire to slow over Saturday night.
Thuya Lake Fire
The Thuya Fire is part of the Little Fort complex.
Firefighters were successful in their efforts to suppress the Thuya fire on Saturday, which resulted in 0% growth.
That fire remains at 450 hectares.
The focus on Saturday was on protecting hydro transmission lines as well as protecting Highway 24 to the north.
The fire was worked aggressively by air tankers and helicopters.
Lemieux Creek Fire
The Lemieux Creek Fire is nearby is located between Thuya Lake and Clearwater
The Lemieux Creek Fire was discovered on July 12th and was caused by lightning.
BC Wildfire service is continuing to respond to the wildfire in the Lemieux Creek area, approximately 13 kilometres southwest of Clearwater and about three kilometres west of Highway 5.
It's currently estimated at 15 hectares in size. an estimated 15-hectare wildfire in the Lemieux Creek area.
