Northern BC ski resort hits the market for $8.25M

Have you ever wanted to preside over your own ski resort?

It’s a niche dream, sure, but one that is possible for someone who has some money tucked away. Well, you may need to have some like-minded friends with money tucked away too.

Powder King Mountain Resort in Northern BC, just over two hours north of Prince George by car, has hit the market for a cool $8.25 million.

You’ll find more than 900 acres of skiable terrain at Powder King, along with three lifts and 37 runs.

According to the Colliers listing, the mountain sees more than 40 feet of annual snowfall, which sees it consistently ranked number one in Canada with respect to snow.

You’ll find a 50-room hostel-style hotel, a dining room and lodge with a licenced pub, a day-use cafeteria-style restaurant, a service shop, on-site staff accommodation and more.

Colliers boasts that Powder King is “an all-season mountain resort that offers outstanding skiing in the winter and a wide variety of seasonal recreational opportunities between the mountain and its sister resort - The Azouzetta Lake Resort - which is also part of the offering.”

That’s right, if you shell out the $8.25 million to buy Powder King, you’ll also get the keys to the only resort on the 340-acre Azouzetta Lake, located six kilometres north of the mountain along the John Hart Highway.

That lakefront resort comes with five duplex cabins, two A-frame cabins and four extended stay cabins with full kitchens. There are also 25 campsites.

The Azouzetta Lake property also includes a gas station, convenience store and Café 97, which Colliers says serves homemade comfort food seven days a week, year-round.
