A number of B.C. communities have been devastated by flooding and could use your help.
You can now make a donation through the Red Cross BC & Yukon that will aid flood relief efforts in various spots across the province.
Not only that, but the Government of B.C. has announced that it will match all donations made through the Red Cross up to a total of $20 million.
"We are matching every dollar donated to (Red Cross BC & Yukon’s) flood appeal,” Premier John Horgan tweeted on Wednesday. “Let's help those who have been faced with disaster to recover and rebuild.”
Donations will be matched from when the announcement was made on Wednesday through July 31, so there is plenty of time to lend your support.
Help those who have been impacted by BC's recent floods with a donation to @RedCrossBC. The Province will provide matching funds for donations between May 16 and July 31. Donate now: https://t.co/r172XIgyGS #BCFlood #BCFlood2018 pic.twitter.com/llAKFsalx5

“Our hearts are with everyone being impacted by these devastating floods,” said Kimberley Nemrava, VP of Red Cross BC & Yukon. “We know how strong and resilient the people of British Columbia are and the Canadian Red Cross is here to support communities now and in the weeks to come.”
“We welcome this commitment from the B.C. government and encourage people to join us by donating to support British Columbians affected by the floods.”
You can donate through a number of channels, either online, by calling 1-800-418-1111 or by texting BCFLOODS to 30333, which will charge a $10 donation to your cell phone bill.
