RCMP have activated a dedicated tip line about the Elephant Hill wildfire that broke out on July 6th, just south of Ashcroft.
On July 6th before 10 p.m., BC Wildfire Services received information that there was a fire near Elephant Hill. As of Tuesday, August 1st, the fire is still burning.
It's estimated at 84,442 hectares in size and is 30% contained.
More than 500 personnel, including night shifts are working on this fire. Structures have been impacted.
BC Wildfire Services suspects the fire was human caused and have identified the origin of the fire.
BC Wildfire Services is working with the RCMP on the investigation.
Anyone with information about this fire is asked to call the RCMP at the dedicated tip line at 1-855-685-8788.
