A snowmobiler riding in the Western Canada Hillcross Tour has passed away after sustaining “serious injuries” during the tour.
Kamloops RCMP reported that they were called to Sun Peaks Resort on Saturday after a reported snowmobile incident at the event.

The rider, a 28-year-old from Alta., was airlifted off of the mountain to the Medical Center in the resort where he succumbed to his injuries.
Sun Peaks has stated that the snowmobiling activities have been cancelled for the weekend.
Races for the weekend-long event were scheduled to take place between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
