A light snowfall produced another classic Lower Mainland winter moment on Tuesday.
The winter weather made it a treacherous drive for many ill-equipped drivers in the region, but it also created some headaches for a bus driver in Coquitlam.
Footage captured and posted to social media by Amber D’Amico shows the city bus having great difficulties navigating the hilly Laurentian Crescent.

As the large vehicle approaches a right turn in the road, it loses traction and starts to slowly turn sideways.
Horns start to honk as it loses control and a white minivan just gets out of the way of the bus’ rear end.
Unfortunately, there isn’t time or a route for the next vehicle in line to avoid a collision and you can hear an audible crunch as the bus crashes into it.
The impact pushes the car off the road, but it doesn’t do much to slow down the bus as it continues to slide down the hill on Laurentian Crescent towards other cars.
While this unfortunate incident was caught on camera, the bus was just one of many vehicles that struggled on the slick Lower Mainland roads on Tuesday.
Fortunately, the temperatures are on the rise in the region, which means drivers should be mostly safe until the next minor winter storm arrives.
