Regular guest Jeff Cox is back again on Rick and Friends, and this time sharing his opinion on an array of topics such as privatizing sectors in Canada, forest fires and how the pandemic created worldwide fear.
Cox discusses the benefits of privatizing sectors within Canada, indicating that it can offer different levels of opportunities while still providing a safety net.
He strongly believes that every Canadian should have access to healthcare and encourages change to happen to fulfill this.
They go into detail about forest management and specifically forest firefighters, which Cox says only work seasonally and was mind blown by this.
“We only reactively respond to forest fires,” he states.
Forest fires, particularly in BC, are an annual prominent issue. Cox believes we would benefit greatly from a full-time 365 day forest fighting crew and emphasizes that this could save us money over time.
Cox and Maddison reflect on the “fear game” that occured after the pandemic and how people now are unsure of the severity of a situation when it occurs.
They express how people are unsure of what to believe anymore, and with that they are questioning information delivered in the media.
The lack of rehabilitation centers and programs is still a topic Cox is passionate about changing. He infers that what we are doing right now is not working, and change needs to happen to help restore lives in society.
