UPDATE: Highway 3A is open to single lane alternating traffic after yesterday's mudslide

(UPDATE: April 19, 2018 @ 6 a.m.)

DriveBC is reporting that Highway 3A near Castlegar is now open to single lane alternating traffic after crews spent yesterday clearing a mudslide.

(Original Story: April 18, 2018)

Highway 3A is closed in both directions after a major mudslide this morning.

The slide is located about 2 kilometres east of Brilliant and just north of Castlegar. An assessment is currently in progress and a detour for smaller passenger vehicles through Pass Creek Road is available.

Commercial vehicles are asked to use Highway 3 Bombi Summit.
